Obligation
Obligation
I am writing to you today out of obligation. I don’t really
have anything poignant to say, unfortunately, but I’ve been making a post
pretty much every day, and it’s been a day or two since I made one, so it’s
long past due. I’m realizing how much of my life has been made out of
obligation and how much of it has been made out of wants and desires. Giving
what I had started out as a desire to see everyone equal and happy. Nobody else
seems to have that desire. The outrage over the latest assassination over a
person who spewed nothing but hate from what I have been informed tells me that
this country of “nice people” only care about their morals and values, not what
led a person to do what they’ve done. That is pathetic. You want to talk about
empathy, start there. Every human matters. EVERY HUMAN. And no, I don’t care if
you think what you’re doing is right. Unless our choices harm another human
being or our physical or psychological selves, not what you deem “our spiritual
selves,” it is up to us to make the choice. There are laws in place to protect
the peace. Pretty much all of those laws are there to protect the balance of
safety and freedom of its citizens. We may disagree on where that line is, but
apparently a lot of you have forgone an individual’s right to choose their own
life over the beliefs YOU HAVE over what a person should do. That is not okay.
And instead of engaging with individuals or credible news sources who have no
political leaning or nothing to gain from news stories, you choose to believe
obviously biased opinions, because opinions reign supreme these days.
Truth be fucked.
No, I refuse to believe that truth and empathy have left the
building. If you are hating for any other reason than injustice, than why? Why
are you hating? Why are you believing stupid information like they are
performing transgender surgeries in schools when adults have trouble accessing
hormones they need whether it’s for their cisgender selves or transgender
selves. Yes, cisgender men take testosterone. I have been one of them. So open
your minds to the possibility that you don’t know everything.
I’m not sorry I started this post out of obligation. I guess
things needed to be said, and I am still learning my wants and needs. THAT is
what this post is about. You might find that I start having more opinions on
this blog. Whoopdeedoo. If you want something without an opinion, go read an
educational article instead of a human’s perspective. I’m sure there are plenty
of Google pages about autism. I’ve read quite a few. I’m also listening to (a)
broadcast about autism by Orion Kelly on Spotify.
There are a lot of unexpressed emotions that I have, and
only recently have I been unmasking enough to come to terms with it. And
through another app have I been able to identify which emotion it might be. I
guess a large one that I’ve always struggled with is injustice in any form. It’s
just not right. And honestly, not to make things political, but I’ve seen
selfish people on one side politically and less selfish people (who are doing
things completely wrong) on the other side. I’m sick and tired of our broken
system, and Charlie Kirk’s shooting will only bring out the hatred of the
country.
Which side will you choose: empathy or division?
